The control plane is free. The rest is one rate card.

Everything you pay for is on this page. The control plane — with registry, sign-on, DNS, TLS, backups and observability — costs nothing; your bill is the exact worker resources you allocate.

Aether rate card, EUR per month
Resource Price Unit Notes
Control plane Free /cluster/mo Includes all platform services and observability — no idle-cluster tax
vCPU €8 /vCPU/mo Allocated across worker nodes
Memory €3.50 /GB/mo Allocated across worker nodes
Block storage (RWO) €0.12 /GB/mo Ceph-backed block volumes
Shared storage (RWX) €0.18 /GB/mo CephFS volumes mountable by many pods
Load balancer €8 /LB/mo A dedicated load-balancer VM per Service
Registry storage €0.09 /GB/mo Image storage + vulnerability scanning, billed per organization
Volume snapshots €0.05 /GB/mo Point-in-time Ceph snapshots

All prices in EUR per month, VAT excluded. Fixed node pools bill a flat month; autoscaling pools bill per node-hour (monthly rate ÷ 730, first 15 minutes of a node's life free).

What real setups cost.

Startup

One production cluster for a small SaaS

  • 4 vCPU · 16 GB RAM
  • 100 GB block storage
  • 1 load balancer · 10 GB registry

€108.90/mo

Mid-market SaaS

Production plus staging with room to grow

  • 12 vCPU · 48 GB RAM
  • 300 GB block storage
  • 3 load balancers · 50 GB registry

€328.50/mo

Production workload

Larger multi-service production estate

  • 24 vCPU · 96 GB RAM
  • 500 GB block storage
  • 5 load balancers · 100 GB registry

€637.00/mo

Example bills assume fixed node pools — the common case — so the monthly fee equals the rate-card sum directly.

FAQ

Billing, without the fine print.

Why is the control plane free?

Because of the architecture. Your control plane runs as lightweight pods against an isolated, replicated datastore — its marginal cost to us is near zero, so we don’t charge an idle-cluster tax for it. You pay only for the worker resources you allocate.

What comes with the free control plane?

Everything platform-side: the hidden control plane itself, single sign-on, the container registry service, DNS and TLS automation, datastore backups, autoscaling, and the full observability stack with dashboards. The one registry cost that is metered is storage, at €0.09 per GB-month for the images you keep.

How is a fixed node pool billed?

Fixed pools (min nodes = max nodes) bill a flat monthly fee — predictable and locked at the price in effect when first seen in the month. A pool present at any point in a month is charged for that month in full, with no proration.

How is an autoscaling pool billed?

Autoscaling pools (max nodes > min nodes) bill per node-hour: the per-node monthly price divided by 730, with each started hour rounded up. A node that lives under 15 minutes is free.

Are there egress or per-API-call fees?

No. The rate card above is the complete price list — there is no per-GB egress meter and no charge for API calls.

How do I pay?
